Position Overview
The Head of Neurology Operations will be responsible for driving our client’s growth in this rapidly evolving, high value therapeutic area. Reporting directly to the COO, the executive will be responsible for leading all operational aspects of the research program. This includes commercial strategy, collaborative client outreach with our client’s business development team, site expansion, Investigator identification, site set-up, operational excellence, industry-leading patient recruitment and retention, and continued support of all Neurology site locations developed.
The strongest candidates will have prior experience leading CNS and Neurology clinical operations at a major clinical trial site, site network, or CRO. The individual will have a robust network of relationships with sponsors and CROs and deep familiarity with the conduct of CNS and Neurology clinical studies.
Key Responsibilities
The Head of Neurology Operations is responsible for the following, as well as other duties that may be necessary for successful development, management, and execution of our client’s Neurology clinical trials program:
- Lead the organic expansion of Our Client’s Neurology/CNS specific clinical trial sites
- Work alongside the BD team to identify and vet specialist Neurology Principal Investigators (PIs)
- Work alongside the BD team to identify and vet Neurology site leads and site location assessments
- Accountable for the hiring and training of Neurology staff in new sites
- Source and support contracting of Neurology raters, or vendors that can supply contracted raters
- Leverage your existing pharma, biotech, and device relationships to develop an industry-leading pipeline and portfolio of Neurology clinical trials across the company’s growing site network
- Conduct protocol reviews and study feasibility for all Neurology sites
- Collaborate with Source Creation team to ensure accurate data collection
- Travel to the various sites during site start up and throughout the year, as needed
- Maintain regular and frequent contact with Neurology PIs
- Conduct clinical trials, as needed for capacity, as expansion locations are developed
- Perform Sub-I duties at expansion sites, if applicable per licensure
- Oversight over all Neurology programs/sites to ensure continued success
- Establish KPIs to ensure business success
- Attend industry events and conferences; participate on panels, speaking engagements, be an active member in the Neurology community

Training: Acquire and maintain the following Sponsored trainings:
- Our Client Research, LLC SOPs, processes, and policies – every year or as changes are made
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP) – every 3 years
- Participate in study-specific training, as required
- Maintain medical license(s), certifications, etc.
Key Requirements
- Advanced degree in life sciences/medical field preferred
- Certified Neurology Rater strongly preferred
- 7-10 years’ experience with a minimum of 5 years of Neurology clinical research experience. (Sub-I experience is a plus)
- Strong network ties in Neurology research community
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans
- 50+ % Travel
